The college and young adult ministry of Heartland Community Church seeks to help our college students and young adults grow in their relationship with Christ. As a Church we value our college students as full members of the church and desire them to be involved in the same way as our other members, but we also recognize the need for fellowship with those in a similiar age and stage. To accomplish this we typically meet on the 1st and 4th Saturday's of the month.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL MEETING LOOK LIKE?
On the first Saturday we typically gather for fellowship through various events. We have done everything from game nights, to meals out, to bowling. The purpose is to get together with others in our life stage.
WHO LEADS THE COLLEGE/YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY?
Our Assistant Pastor Gary Goodrich currently leads the overall vision and direction of the college/young adult ministy. We also have a great group of adult leaders who help lead in conjuction with Gary and our other elders.
WHAT ABOUT OTHER OPPORTUNITIES?
As a Church we also know that many students are heavily involved on their local college campus and because of this we seek to partner with college ministries in the area. We are currently exploring a partnership with "The Navigators" and "CRU" at Wichita State University.
HOW DO I VOLUNTEER WITH THIS MINISTRY?
Volunteers are always welcomed and encouraged to participate in this ministry! We do require that all volunteers be members of the church and have thorough background checks. To learn more about volunteering with College/Young Adult Ministries, contact Gary Goodrich Gary@heartlandpca.org.
